Undeniably Good Time is a leader in the TTRPG actual live play community. They came to me to help with defining a brand strategy and subsequent marketing strategy with the goal to gain followers, and in turn increase their revenue to turn what started as a hobby among friends into a profitable company.
The first thing I like to do with clients is understand what they currently do marketing-wise and what they feel their pain points are, both on the business side and marketing side. From there I can help guide us down the right path. I understand that launching a huge marketing campaign is not always (usually not) the next step for businesses, small changes and tweaks can make large impacts.
Deliverables & Execution
- Marketing Plan — this included defining business goals, marketing goals, timelines, budget, audiences, tactics & more.
- Brand Guide — having a defined brand guide is the foundation to marketing success, read more on that here. For UGT this included delivering key components that helped define who they were and what their goals were. This included a mission/vision statement, tagline, brand colors, competitive analysis and SEO-optimized about summaries.
- Best Practices — for any digital platform, or traditional medium a business may pursue for advertising it is crucial to have a basic understanding of best practices for those channels.
- Content Calendar — For UGT this was a pain point. They had a lot of wonderful, creative people who had great ideas, but needed the organization to make sure these ideas were heard by their followers and potential followers.
- Define Tactics — Finally, I recommended tactics for UGT to pursue and helped develop draft creative for these tactics. This included recommendations on how to persuade followers to be Patreon members, various social ad recommendations, and recommendations on website development.
- Example Creative — I taught their team how to setup and manage ads easily on various social platforms. This included creating a number of example ads that they could use as well as recommendations on how long to run them, budgets, and adjustments to watch for.
